Tap the face or casing of the gauge firmly to dislodge the stuck needle. if the gauge doesn’t register water pressure, it won’t be possible to monitor the filter’s performance. Also, excessively high filter pressure can lead to filter damage and personal injury. Replace the filter gauge if it doesn’t immediately begin working properly.
|Pressure-guage needle wont move when filtration system us turned on or off||Pressure Guage is stuck||Tap the face or casing of the gauge firmly to dislodge the stuck needle. if the gauge doesn’t register water pressure, it won’t be possible to monitor the filter’s performance. Also, excessively high filter pressure can lead to filter damage and personal injury. Replace the filter gauge if it doesn’t immediately begin working properly.|
|Flow Reat is Low||Accumulated dirt is restricting water flow
A pipe is blocked downstream, the piping is too small, the skimmer and the pump strainer baskets are clogged, the pump impeller and diffuser are clogged or worn, the pump is undersized
|Clean the filter according to the manufacturers`s instructions
Locate and remove the obstruction, contact a service technician to replace the piping with properly sized pipe, empty and clean the skimmer and stainer basket. Clear any obstructions, contact a service technician to replace worn parts, resize equipment accordingly.
|Cycles are shorter than is normal between backwashes||The water is not balanced and/or the sanitizer residual is too low, the flow rate is excessive, the filter is under sized, there’s an unusual burden on the filter caused by excessive dire debris body oil algae or other contaminants, the filter element isn’t being cleaned properly.||Balanced the water and maintain the proper sanitizer residual, restrict the flow to rated capacity of the filter, install a larger filter or an additional filter, do your best to keep debris out of water encourage bathers to shower before entering the pool or spa, follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for cleaning and backwashing a filter|
|Filtering is poor||The sanitizer residual is low, the filter is too small, the flow rate is too low and/or the operating time is too short to obtain adequate turnover of the water, the filter isn’t being cleaned effectively, the pump is too large, the filter is installed backward||Maintain adequate sanitizer residual, contact a service technician to verify that all your equipment is properly sized for your pool or spa, cartridge filters should be cleaned thoroughly and DE and sand filters should be backwashed completely, reduce the flow rate, replumb correctly.|
|Sand or DE is entering the pool||If you have a sand filter it may be the channeling
if you have a sand filter it may have mud balls
if you have a DE filter, the DE may have coagulated or solidified
if you have a DE filter, the DE isn’t adequately coating the grids
if you have a cartridge filter, its fabric may be torn, allowing unfiltered water to pass through
the backwash valve isn’t fully closed
If you have a sand filter, the lateral may be broken
If you have a DE filter, the filter on the filter grid may be torn or worn
|Channeling refers to formation of channels in thousand bed, which allows water to pass through unfiltered. Backwash the filter to redistribute the sand. Check the water level to make sure air isn’t getting into the system. If the filter hasn’t been backwashed consistently, mud balls have formed. Or the sand may have calcified and is no longer able to filter out dirt. Remove the affected sand and replace it with fresh sand. Backwash the filter.
If you notice hardening of the DE cake, remove the grids and clean the elements, following the manufacturers instructions. Reassemble the filter and add fresh DE. Make sure the pump and filter are sized accordingly. Make sure the DE slurry isn’t being fed into the skimmer too quickly. Replace the damaged cartridge. Close the backwash valve. Replace the broken lateral.
Repair any small holes with fingernail polish or silicon sealer. Replace severely damaged filter elements.
|Air Pressure Builds up||There may be a hairline crack or leak in plumbing connection on the suction side of the pump
Low water level in the pool is permitting air to enter via the skimmer
|Locate and repair any cracks or leaks. Meanwhile, open the pressure-release valve to allow the air escape Fill the pool to proper level. Meanwhile, open the Pressure-release valve to allow air to escape.|
